Sponsorships are a powerful tool for creating long-term change—not through spectacular individual actions, but through continuous, reliable support and cooperation..  

At the Child Destiny Foundation, we therefore focus on therapy sponsorhipsthat give children with disabilities in the Kibera slum access to therapy, care, and a safe place. 

Why sponsorships work so well 

What makes sponsorship so special is the regularity of the support.Through monthly contributions—whether large or small—sponsors create a stable foundation on which we can plan and expand our work. 

This planning security means, for example: 

• a permanent position for our occupational therapists 

• materials for promoting children's development 

• one hot meal per day for every child 

• a safe place where development becomes possible in the first place 

Children with disabilities are particularly affected by social exclusion in Kibera. Therapy is expensive and difficult to access—this is where our therapy sponsorhips come in. 

No individual sponsorship – deliberately. 

We deliberately refrain from traditional 1:1 sponsorship of individual children. We believe that aid should not be linked to faces or emotionalized in order to justify support. 

Our sponsorships always support the entire day centerso that all children benefit equally from your sponsorship — regardless of age, gender, or disability. Because we believe in community, not dependency. 

Empowerment, not savior complex 

The work in Kibera is based on local expertise and personal responsibility: the day center is run by a Kenyan team, and decisions are made in consultation with parents and local experts. 

As an organization based in Austria, we see our role as supportive, not decisive.Our sponsors are part of this network, which builds long-term structures —not short-term solutions.
